How To Motivate Yourself To Exercise

Working out at home has some serious perks.

There are no people judging you, you can lie on the floor for hours after and, best of all, it’s absolutely free. Having said that, there are some days when you just can’t bring yourself to rise from your sofa. That’s where we come in.

Create Space

Let The Music Play

Putting on your favourite tunes can take your workout to a whole new level. Listening to music makes exercise less boring, lifts your mood and can even increase your stamina so you work out for even longer. Just make sure it’s not too downbeat.

Make Time

If you don’t have a regular workout time, it may never happen. Whether it’s first thing in the morning or last thing at night, it’s important to pick a time that fits around your busy schedule. Once you get a routine going, it’ll be easier to motivate yourself.

Set Goals

Think you can do an extra five reps tomorrow? Then prove it!

Setting goals pushes you to work even harder when you’re exercising, making you feel more invigorated and eager to take things to another level next time.

Mix Things Up

Finding a fresh way to workout is a simple click away.

There are endless videos online with workouts you can follow. YouTube is great because there are vloggers who offer encouragement and push you to keep going as you follow their routine. They’re like your own personal fitness trainer, minus the cost of the gym.

Make It Fun-Sized

Even if you have every intention of doing a thirty-minute workout, there are bound to be days when you just can’t bring yourself to do it.

If you feel too worn out to exercise, why not make it a fun-sized workout by shortening it down to fifteen-minutes? After all, half a workout is better than no workout at all.

Get A Workout Buddy

If you can find a friend to work out with, do it. Working out with someone means you can motivate each other to keep going and get over that final hurdle. Plus, you can reward yourselves with a cheeky glass of wine when you’ve finished.

 Do you really want all that money you spent on a mat, dumbbells, massage roller and gym ball to go to waste? Of course not. As soon as you step into your workout space with all your equipment laid out in front of you, there’s no way you’ll be able to turn back.
