Keep Fit Tips For Christmas

With so many presents to buy and jobs to do, keeping fit over the festive season is easier said than done. Add food, drink and more food to the equation and you’ve got yourself a one-way ticket to burst jeans and unwanted belly fat.

But don’t panic. By following our advice, you can enjoy Christmas without worrying about your ever-expanding waistline.

Be Flexible

If you can’t squeeze a thirty-minute workout into your day, don’t worry.

Doing a fifteen-minute workout is more than acceptable, especially if you’ve been busy hoovering the house, decorating the tree or getting the Christmas shopping. You’ll be surprised how many calories you’ll burn by doing simple chores and everyday activities.

Push Yourself

Let’s be honest, relaxing by the fire with a glass of prosecco is far more appealing than doing a set of crunches, especially when you’ve been rushed off your feet and it’s freezing cold outside.

If exercise is the last thing you want to do, you probably need some motivation. Thankfully there are loads of workout videos and tutorials online which will give you the push you need to get up and get active.

Our go-to girl is Rhiannon Bailey, as she’s got a top attitude and really pumps us up.

Mix It Up

If you do the same workout every day, you’ll soon lose interest.

By mixing things up and using different equipment, you’re more likely to stick to a regular routine. From dumbbells and gym balls to yoga mats and massage sticks, you’ll find a huge range of fitness equipment available at Core Balance.

Even if you don’t treat yourself, you could always treat someone else to something from our range at Christmas.

Who Ate All The Mince Pies

If you find yourself reaching for a second slice of panettone, don’t panic.

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a little bit of indulgence (okay, a lot of indulgence). Rather than berating yourself for your lack of willpower, balance things out by doing a set of press-ups, burpees or bicep curls.

Go All Out In January

Remember, Christmas comes but once year.

Whilst it’s important to keep yourself fit and healthy, it’s equally important to give yourself a break and embrace the festive season in all its gluttonous glory.

Come January, you can go all out to work off your excess weight and keep yourself fit for the year ahead. Well, at least until next Christmas.
